I was a little resistant to adding this page because your experience of Namasté
Yoga Retreats is about you as the participant and not me as the facilitator. It is about finding your
own truth, connecting with your inner compass and having a compassionate environment to ‘breathe’ and explore
your journey. Rather you experience a Simply Stretch, Just Exhale
or one of our Yoga & Meditation retreats, it is truly about you
falling in love with who you are (mind, body and soul) opening to your journey with compassion and love as wisdom and enlightenment
becomes an ever brighter light shining in the Universe.
I am honored to relate a little bit about my journey holding the intention to inspire the above experience …
After being raised in a very religious abusive home, diagnosed with cancer (Hodgkin Disease), surviving 2 surgeries, a
near death experience, chemotherapy and radiation treatments before the age of 16, I knew this journey was going to be an
interesting opportunity for great growth and evolution. Once in remission I embraced ‘living life’ thereby taking
the next step in my journey.
By the end of 1992, I was a single parent of a beautiful baby girl completing my University of Texas
at Dallas, Bachelor of Science degree in Business
Administration when my spirituality began to move to the forefront. I became conscious of an innate style of meditation that
I had practiced for years. Opening up to different paths in which to express
my spirituality, I studied intensely many religious traditions. The ‘knowing experience’ that we are all One finally
moved me to embrace all schools of traditions worldwide without adopting one to the exclusion of another.
In 1996, I experienced my first yoga class. It was a yoga class taught with Physical Fitness as its intention, even
so, my soul was moved. As I continued to practice (and later instruct) honoring where I was in each moment
I continued to be rejuvenated, relaxed, strengthened emotionally and physically, as well as clearer in spirit to consciously
walk my path without distractions hindering my progress.
I fell in love not only with the practice of yoga
and meditation but with myself and the world around me. As I continue to consciously embrace my journey, my soul embraces
peace, unconditional love and non-judgemental compassion. I confidently walk on my path without fear, opening more
fully to my inner compass, enlightened wisdom and a passion for mirroring the worth and beauty of each individual I meet.
